Privacy Policy

Domisura keeps a record of a house. This explains what that record contains, where it lives, who else touches it, and what happens to it when the house is sold.

Effective September 12, 2026

Who we are

Domisura is a service that keeps a maintenance and warranty record for a home. It is operated by Domisura Holdings Inc., a company incorporated in Alberta, Canada. “We” and “us” below mean Domisura Holdings Inc..

Questions about this policy, or about the personal information we hold, go to privacy@domisura.com.

What we collect

Three kinds of information, collected for different reasons.

  • Your account. Your email address, and — only if you provide them — your name, phone number, time zone and notification preferences. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and name from Google; we never receive your Google password.
  • The home record. The property address, the systems and appliances in it, model and serial numbers, installation and service dates, warranty terms, costs you choose to record, the rooms you define, and any photographs or documents you upload — nameplate photos, invoices, inspection reports. Also the names and contact details of any tradespeople you add to the property’s contact list.
  • Operational data. Error reports and diagnostics when something breaks, so we can fix it. If you joined our waitlist, the email address you gave us and nothing else.

Why we use it

To run the service: to show you your record, to work out what maintenance is due and tell you about it, to send the digests and reminders you have asked for, and to transfer the record to the next owner when the house changes hands. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

If you joined the waitlist, we use your address for one thing — to tell you when the service opens in your area. You can ask us to remove it at any time and we will.

What happens when the house is sold

This is the part most worth reading, because it is the point of the product and it is unusual.

The home record belongs to the address, not to you. When ownership transfers, the maintenance and warranty history stays with the property and the new owner gets access to it. Nothing is copied or moved; the record simply continues. That is what makes it worth keeping.

What does not carry over:

  • Your name. To a later owner, a previous owner’s entries are attributed to “previous owner”, never by name.
  • Anything you marked private. Content you set to private stays with you and is not visible to the next owner.
  • Your contacts’ details. The email addresses, phone numbers and preferences in your property contact list are erased on transfer. A tradesperson’s mobile number is your relationship and is not yours to hand on. That they did the work stays on the record; how to reach them does not.
  • Access by other people. Grants you gave to a builder, contractor or property manager are revoked.

Photographs and automated reading

When you photograph a nameplate, an invoice or an inspection report, we send that image to Anthropic to read the text out of it — the model number, the totals, the line items — so you do not have to type it. Anthropic processes the image on our behalf and does not use data submitted through its API to train its models.

What comes back is a suggestion. You confirm or correct it before it goes on the record, and the record notes that the value came from a scan.

Where your information is stored

Your account and your home record are stored in Canada, in Montréal. We chose Canadian hosting deliberately rather than as a default.

Some of the services we rely on operate outside Canada, which means some personal information is processed in other countries and is subject to the laws of those countries, including lawful access by their courts and law enforcement. Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act requires us to tell you this, to say which countries are involved, and to give you someone to ask about it. The list:

Cookies

We set cookies to keep you signed in. That is what they are for. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not run third-party advertising trackers on this site.

How long we keep it

Your account information is kept while your account exists. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete it and your personal details along with it.

The home record is different, and you should know this before you put anything into it: because the record belongs to the address, deleting your account does not erase the property’s maintenance and warranty history. It continues without your name attached to it. If you want specific entries removed rather than anonymised, ask us and we will work through it with you.

Your rights

Under Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act you can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, and withdraw your consent to our using it — though withdrawing consent for the information the service needs will mean we can no longer provide the service.

Write to privacy@domisura.com and we will respond. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.

Children

Domisura is for homeowners and the trades who work for them. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the effective date at the top and, where the change is significant, tell you directly rather than relying on you to notice.
