Plumbing

Test the well water for bacteria and chemicals

Twice a year, in April.

What to do

Collect a sample in a bottle from the lab and take it in the same day.

Why it matters

Bacterial contamination has no taste or smell. Testing is the only way anyone finds out.

Where this comes from

CMHC CE 47 — "it is recommended that you test for bacteria every six months" — listed in both spring and fall.

Catch it while it’s still maintenance.

Domisura keeps this schedule for your house — dated to when things went in, and reminding you when each task comes round. The record stays with the address when you sell.
