Seal the tub and shower grout
Every year, in June.
What to do
Wipe a clear liquid silicone sealer over the grout joints and let it soak in.
Why it matters
Grout is porous. Unsealed, it carries water through to the substrate behind the tile, which is the expensive part.
Where this comes from
Habitat Studio p.23 says every six months; the p.30 grid says annually. Annual is what gets done. Not to be confused with silicone caulking — this is a liquid.
Catch it while it’s still maintenance.
