Electrical
Check the service line where it enters the home
Every 2 years, usually in May.
What to do
Look at where the power line meets the home, from the ground.
Why it matters
This is the utility's equipment up to the meter, so what you are doing is spotting a problem to report rather than fixing one.
What to look for
- The attachment is still secure and has not pulled away from the wall
- No fraying or bare conductor where the line meets the mast
- No water tracking down the conduit into the home
- Tree branches are clear of the line
Where this comes from
CMHC CE 47, listed as an annual outdoor check.
Catch it while it’s still maintenance.
Domisura keeps this schedule for your home — dated to when things went in, and reminding you when each task comes round. The record stays with the address when you sell.
